New Chapter, new opportunities

Hello,

This is my first post since I announced in January of this year that I decided to leave Microsoft in December 2023. It’s been approximately six months now, and I can tell you that spending time with my family has been a great relief and a long overdue commitment to my wife and kids.

While I’ve enjoyed the freedom to hang around, take care of my kids, watch them grow, and assist with school and homework, I’ve also taken some time for myself to relax and unwind—often with a cold mug of Munich beer *Sigh*.

Finally, I’ve managed to tackle many items on my “to-do” list that I used to perpetually push forward. Yes, it’s a familiar story, isn’t it?

However, I can proudly say that I’ve “finished” all those lingering open tasks at the end!
Hooray! 🎉

So, the plan was to keep that running for a while maybe ’til the end of the year but as is often the case in life, things tend to deviate from our plans and unfold differently in reality. 😉

The new chapter:

Let’s update on recent changes and what’s coming next:

On June 1st, I embarked on a new journey with Skaylink, taking on the role of
Consultant for M365 Modern Work & Collaboration, as well as
Data Governance & Data Security, leveraging Microsoft Purview.

I’m hopeful that this new position will provide me with valuable experiences and challenges that will enhance my skills and deepen my expertise.

Keep an eye out, as I plan to revive regular updates on my blog, featuring a ton of new and intriguing articles. These will delve into the “new way of work,” focusing on modern collaboration techniques, and the latest in Data Governance and security insights,
without overlooking SharePoint and OneDrive, which have been instrumental in my professional growth 😉

A heartfelt thank you to all my loyal subscribers who have stuck by me, even during periods of infrequent posting. Your loyalty means the world to me.

Cheers, Steve

  1. Servus Steve!

    Christian
