This is just a short summary of some supportability news, notes and remainders related to SharePoint.
Support Lifecycle Reminder for SharePoint 2010 RTM
Starting July 10, 2012, mainstream support will end for SharePoint 2010 RTM. This means that customers should attempt to be at least at SP1 if they wish to receive mainstream support from Microsoft. Typically when Microsoft releases a service pack, the release of that service pack triggers the clock on the prior version of the product (in this case, SharePoint 2010 RTM).
Support for SharePoint 2010 SP1 will continue until October 2015 unless a new service pack is released between now and October 2015. If a service pack is released before October 2015, SP1 would then be in mainstream support for 12 months after the new service pack is released.

As I already announced in my previous “Supportability flash may 2012”, SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) and SharePoint Services (WSS 3.0) entering extended support in October 2012!

Please be aware of this and ensure that all your issues are reported finally until end of august/begin of September 2012 to be eligible for a possible hotfix request!

Adding some more information about the “extended support policy:
http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/#ServicePackSupport
So this means, if you are forced to request additional support for hotfixes beyond the main stream, you need to sign a special contract within 90 days after entering the extended support phase.
Windows Azure preview available!
Last month the Windows Azure Preview was released and is available for testing and evaluation HERE
Windows Azure enables you to quickly build, deploy and manage applications across a global network of Microsoft-managed datacenters. You can build applications using any operating system, language or tool.
Currently, the only flavor of SharePoint supported to run on Windows Azure VMs is SharePoint 2010 with SP1+. The Support for the preview is currently limited to non-production systems/deployments via newsgroups.
