We’re still expiriencing some unknown problems with the SPS2010 Server package and also delayed or not yet published KB articles and descriptions.
The download links are randomly not working yet.  The PG is aware of the problem and currently trying to fix it asap.

The MSF 2010 Download link works without problems. Also the Project CU packages, that also containing the SPS2010 server packages, so if urgently required, you may use those downloads instead. Any news will be psoted here immediately, sorry for inconvinience,

With a little delay, we recently released last night the awaited “February 2011 Cumulative Update Package for SharePoint Foundation and Server 2010”.

If you have not installed the December 2010 CU yet, you should not install it prior and better go straight ahead for the Februar fix.
If December 2010 CU was applied already and you also might have been victim of the regressions, then with this Fix those might be resolved as well.

Note:
As this posts are published close to the US announcement, some links will become working a view days later as the KB’s commonly not released as fast as the Packages itself!

Here are the Links as usual:

  1. Thanks for the reply Steve…do appreciate it.
I dont suppose there is any ETA for the June CU ? Not being able exapnd sites under content and structure to do other things is becoming a contentious issue here.
    Thanks

  2. Cannot believe this…..
We installed Feb CU to fix the regression on User Profile Sync caused by the Dec CU.
Now we have 5 sites with discussion lists that cannot be accessed.
Using Manage Content and Structure doesn't even allow us to expand the sites in question without erroring (There was an error in the Callback ) , so we can't even get to the lists to delete them……
Any plans for a Hotfix here…….?
We seem to go 2 steps forward and 1 step back with every CU.

  3. Steve, are you aware of a regression in the Feb CUs that causes Profile Exports to fail durring DS_EXPORT with "completed-export-errors". This works in RTM and now fails.

  4. Man you guys are slow… 1 week later and the KB articles still dead and the download only works for SPF.
    Epic fail.
    MS usual BS (business support)
The KB article has no public hotfixes. Please contact support if you need immediate assistance.

  6. Hi Chris,
thnx for the hint but as usual, the KB links will be published delayed but the download links are working!
So please stay patient, the KB's will be ready soon. my Posts are blogged close to the latest info from US and therefore it might happen that the according KB's not ready at the same time

  7. Hi Matthew,
The "completed-export-errors" message just tells you that the import was processed but with problems of some users/accounts or certain properties that had a problem. This is not a regression and sounds more than a usual issue with specific accounts not correctly imported successful. This error can occur in any build and is not related to as a regression in Feb. 2011 CU.
The only current known regression with the Febr. 2011 CU is that users may see errors while interacting with discussion lists created in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint Foundation 2010. The April CU will also be shipped with this regression as a "Knonw Issue" and will be fixed with the June or August CU.
    Hth, cheers, Steve

  8. Hi Andy,
well the usual ETA is end of the month with the last "patching tuesday" which would be the 28th.
This applies to each CU, to be released bi-monthly schedule.
If no failures during tests happened, the CU should come out in-time 😉

  9. Hi Andy,
I'm very sorry about your problems and yes, with the last few updates we had some serious problems and regrerssions. I agree that this can be annoying and I understand your anger.
But as always, SP2010 is huge in functionality and thus, it may happen that a certain issue that was fixed may cause another one new.
regarding your question:  "…Any plans for a Hotfix here…….?"     The escalation team is aware of this issue and a revised version of the changes that resulted in this regression will be shipped soon. The fix is estimated to be shipped with the June 2011 CU.
    Thank you and cheers,
    Steve
